How Often Can Brow Laminations Be Done? [Your Guide to Client Aftercare]

Europe has been the starting point for many of the world’s most popular beauty trends. From contouring to no-makeup makeup, it seems like everything starts in Paris or Milan before making its way stateside. The latest European trend to hit U.S. shores is brow lamination, which is taking over by storm.

If you are a brow artist interested in offering brow lamination, you may have many questions. This blog will discuss how often brow laminations can be done, aftercare, and tips to get more brow clients.

What Is Brow Lamination?

Brow lamination is a type of perm that rearranges brow hairs into a uniform shape. When done right, brow laminations are much more gentle on your hair than traditional perms. Brow laminations add fullness, length, and definition to your brows for up to six weeks.

The Perfect Timing for Brow Lamination

Most aestheticians recommend clients get a brow lamination every six to eight  weeks. This will help them maintain the shape of their brows and keep them looking their best. If your client has oily skin, they may need to get the treatment more often, as the oil can break down the solution used in the perm.

If, for whatever reason, a client's brow lamination doesn't take or only lasts a week, it’s still recommended to stick to that 6-8 week period between treatments.

Can You Get a Brow Lamination Too Often?

As a matter of fact, you can get your brows laminated too often, which can damage your brows. If you get the treatment too often, your brows will become weak and brittle, and they may even start to fall out. The chemicals in the perm solution can also irritate your skin if you get the treatment too often.

Brow Lamination Aftercare

Aftercare for brow laminations is simple but super important. Correct aftercare will give the perm solution time to set and ensure that the brows retain their shape. After the treatment, your client should avoid the following for 24 hours:

  • Wearing makeup
  • Getting their brows wet
  • Touching or rubbing their brows
  • Exposing their brows to heat and humidity

An aftercare serum for your client's brows will also be super beneficial! Not only is it a great upsell for you, but your client will be happier with their brows if they use a serum regularly.

How Do I Get More Brow Lamination Bookings?

New and repeat customers can make your business thrive—and your brow lamination services may be able to help.

Rebook Your Clients

Brow laminations are one of the best services to offer if you want regular and recurring clients. Be sure to ask clients if they want to rebook their next appointment in the next 6-8 weeks before they leave. When you rebook your clients, it ensures client loyalty and helps build your business.

Utilize Social Media

In the beauty industry, showcasing your work on social media is imperative. Social media is one of the best ways to attract new clients and get more bookings. When posting about brow laminations, use high-quality photos and videos showing off your work.

Post before-and-after photos and step-by-step reels to give potential clients an idea of what they can expect from the treatment. When it comes to social media, consistency is key!
